The Oak Creek Health Department provides consultation and information to the public on eliminating or controlling rodents, insects and other animals capable of causing or transmitting disease to humans. We investigate and enforce state and city rules regarding insect, rodent and animal infestation problems of public health importance and provide consultation and other resources to address vector borne diseases. The Oak Creek Health Department partners with the Oak Creek Police Department and Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control to enforce city and county regulations on reported animal bites and pet quarantines. We advise the public and health care clinicians on appropriate measures to take when an individual is bitten by a domestic pet or a wild animal, and the appropriate preventive measures when following up on potential rabies cases.
