The Oak Creek Health Department investigates air pollution complaints and enforces applicable state and local regulations. We advise on matters relating to poor indoor air quality and offer guidance on how to correct indoor air quality problems.

The Air Quality Index

The Air Quality Index (AQI) is a tool used by EPA and other agencies to provide the public with timely and easy-to-understand information on local air quality and whether air pollution levels pose a health concern. The AQI tells the public how clean the air is and whether or not they should be concerned for their health. The AQI is focused on health effects that can happen within a few hours or days after breathing polluted air.
