Chances are you won't run into Police Officer Jaime Lisowski of the OCPD while she's at work, unless of course you are a night owl, or need some assistance during the wee hours of the morning, but she is no stranger to our residents. Jaime has served our city for over 9 years, having worked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including a four year stint as an S.R.O. at Oak Creek High School. A Class of 2000 graduate of Oak Creek High School, Jaime began her career as a police aide, following in the footsteps of her grandfather, who was a Lieutenant with the South Milwaukee Police Department.
Jaime cites her co-workers as one of the biggest reasons why she enjoys her career. "The people I work with are fantastic, and we rely on each other as teammates and work together well." One of the most rewarding aspects of police work, Jaime said, is her involvement with the Police Department Honor Guard, which she joined in 2006. They present the colors and flags at important city events, and also at swearing-in, retirement, and funeral ceremonies.
Hired by former Police Chief Tom Bauer, Jaime talked about how she approaches police work and her relationship with the public. "Keep in mind I meet most people on one of their worst days, my goal is to empathize with them, and help make their situation a little bit better," Jaime said.
Since watching an episode of the Oprah Winfrey show a few years ago, Jaime has committed herself to a vegan lifestyle with a healthy physical fitness regimen including running, and workouts with a personal trainer. "I never thought about where my food came from,” Jaime noted, describing her favorite foods, and talking about the challenges of her vegan diet. Jaime has committed to running in the Brewers inaugural half-marathon race on Saturday, September 22nd, a race she has trained for during the last six months, often running through Lake Michigan's Grant Park, with her dogs Buddy and Rillo.
Jaime is also a season-ticket holder for the Milwaukee Admirals, and frequently volunteers at many community events including National Night Out, and at the Oak Creek Community Center.« Return to Meet Our Staff
