If you stop at the Inspection Department desk at City Hall, you might meet Dana Johnson, a fourteen-year, part-time administrative employee of the City of Oak Creek. Dana works with residents and businesses looking to fill out electrical or plumbing permits. During that process, she always learns a little bit more about the city she works in.
"I meet a lot of different people every day," Dana said, "and I enjoy the process of helping them get their projects started, and completed the right way." Working in the inspection department Dana is up to speed on most of the new projects taking place around the city, including the new downtown project, Drexel Town Square. "I'm really curious how the new public square will look and eventually how it all turns out, it's an exciting time for the city," she said.
Dana has a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and is married to husband Heath, with three children, Seth (11), Hannah (10), and Adam (8), who all attend Oak Creek Schools. As part of a recent initiative to cross-train the administrative staff across all the departments at City Hall, Dana has had the opportunity to learn a lot about the workings of each part of City Hall. "There's a lot going on in our city, and with the new City Hall and Library being built, it's a chance to understand how all of the departments work together," said Dana.
Her hobbies include gardening, scrapbooking, and supporting her family in a wide variety of activities. Two of her children recently experienced Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt, Wisconsin. The camp helps youths and adult who are visually impaired, blind, deaf, or hard of hearing and children with diabetes and cognitive disabilities to experience summer camp. Stop in and say Hi to Dana on your next visit to City Hall.« Return to Meet Our Staff
