1. Mayor Scaffidi called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. On roll call, the following alderpersons were present: Ald. Jakubczyk, Ald. Bukiewicz, Ald. Ruetz, Ald. Toman, Ald. Gehl, and Ald. 2. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance being said by all present.

A public hearing was held to consider a proposed street vacation of South Knights Place right-of-way (see Item 6 for action on this hearing).

Ald. Ruetz, seconded by Ald. Michalski, moved to adopt Resolution No. 11238-041712, vacating and discontinuing a part of a public street in the City of Oak Creek (South Knights Place). Michalski moved to authorize the City Attorney and City Administrator to negotiate a contract for Owner’s Representative Services in connection with construction of a new City Hall, Library, and Fire Station #1 with the Chamberlain Group. Gehl, moved to forward a copy of the Public Police Forum’s report “Exploring Shared or Consolidated Fire Services in Southern Milwaukee County” to the Personnel Committee, Finance Committee, and Police and Fire Commission for review and to report back to the Council as it might request. COUNCIL INVITES ROB HENKEN, PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC POLICY FORUM TO FUTURE MEETING TO PROVIDE PRESENTATION AND ALLOW PUBLIC INPUT ON OPPORTUNITIES AND ISSUES RAISED FOR SHARED OR CONSOLIDATED SERVICES CONTAINED IN PUBLIC POLICY FORUM’S REPORT “EXPLORING SHARED OR CONSOLIDATED FIRE SERVICES IN SOUTHERN MILWAUKEE COUNTY”.
Ald. Toman, seconded by Ald. Michalski, moved to invite Rob Henken, President of Public Policy Forum to a future Council meeting to provide a presentation and allow public input on opportunities and issues raised for shared or consolidated services contained in Public Policy Forum’s report “Exploring Shared or Consolidated Fire Services in Southern Milwaukee County”. 10. DIRECTED HELD UNTIL 7/17/12 COUNCIL MEETING: ACTION BY COUNCIL TO WITHDRAW ITS SUPPORT FOR AMENDMENT TO PROJECT PLAN FOR TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT NUMBER 10 (“TID 10”) THAT WOULD PROVIDE $4,500,000 IN DEVELOPER ASSISTANCE TO SYNER G LLC FOR 107 ROOM, FOUR POINTS SHERATON HOTEL AND APPROXIMATELY 1,830 SPACE COVERED PARKING LOT TO SUPPORT TRAVELERS TO AND FROM AIRPORT.

Gehl moved hold action by the Council to withdraw its support for an amendment to the Project Plan for Tax Increment Financing District Number 10 (“TID 10”) that would provide $4,500,000 in developer assistance to Syner G LLC for a 107 room, Four Points Sheraton hotel and approximately 1,830 space covered parking lot to support travelers to and from the airport until the July 17, 2012, Common Council meeting and to direct staff to meet with Greg Trapani to determine if he can fulfill the requirements for this transaction. Ald. Toman, seconded by Ald. Michalski, moved to adopt Ordinance No. 2654, repealing and recreating Section 2.05 of the Municipal Code to change two polling place locations for the City of Oak Creek.
