Recommendation:
That the Common Council adopt Resolution No. 11316-120412 a Resolution Approving
the City Administrator Employment Agreement.
Background: The Common Council evaluated the performance
of the City Administrator in closed session on October 16, 2012 and November
20, 2012. Following the evaluation by
the Common Council, the City Administrator met with the Mayor, Common Council
President Mike Toman and the City Attorney to go over the performance review
and the terms of the updated contract.
Attached to the Resolution is the form of the City Administrator’s
contract. This is simply an update of
the original contract for the City Administrator. It increases his salary effective October 18,
2012 to $118,000.00 and provides for 20 days paid time off for 2012 and 2013
which is consistent with the paid time off for other City employees. There have been some slight changes to the
Agreement to eliminate those provisions that are no longer applicable. Otherwise the substantive provisions of the
Agreement remain in full force and effect.
It was agreed that future evaluations would be done in January of each
year, starting in January of 2014.
