On Sunday, May 17th, Jeff Sageser will be honored as the 2015 Oak Creek Citizen of the Year. The annual event honors a citizen who demonstrates community service and a commitment to the City of Oak Creek at the highest level. The event is at the Oak Creek Community Center on South Howell Avenue and tickets are available for $35 a person. The celebration begins at 4pm.

Jeff has been very active in the community for many years serving on the Oak Creek Community Center's Board of Directors, the Oak Creek Police & Fire Commission, as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, and also working with Oak Creek Youth Football, the Oak Creek Quarterback Club, and the Oak Creek Band.  His countless hours of volunteer help are a shining example of what one person can do to help build a better community.

His nomination form included this wonderful quote about his contributions to our city. "Jeff is a humble man who has been a mentor, role model, giver, and an inspirational person who only wants the best for those around him and for his community."  Jeff is a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Oak Creek, along with his wife Marge, daughter Kelsey and son Zach.

Previous awardees have included City Attorney Larry Haskin, Police officers Sam Lenda and Lt. Brian Murphy, and last year's winner, Ed Siira. Please join me in honoring Jeff Sageser as the 2015 Oak Creek Citizen of the Year. Thanks for stepping up for your community Jeff!
